If words could speak they would tell you

Step into a warm, welcoming space where language becomes a portal. Storytellers from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds share untranslatable words—expressions that hold memory, place, and feeling. Through these words, personal and ancestral stories unfold, weaving tales of heritage and belonging.

Over five monthly events in the Ideas Space at Darling Square Library, audiences will experience different performers sharing stories that celebrate the richness of cultural expression across communities. Each session offers a unique chance to connect through language.

Celebrate the languages, cultures, and shared stories that shape who we are—and the Sydney we call home.

Keila Terencio, Cultural Producer of this series, is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice spans physical theatre, aerial dance, puppetry, and movement. Her work explores storytelling through language, identity, and connection—central themes woven throughout the events.

These are free events open to 18+yrs.

Spaces are limited – book in for a storyteller event today!
